Home and Doing Well :)

January10

I am home and doing well. I have kept mom and dad very busy as they stay close to me at all times. I had a small tumor removed on my remaining hind leg (as well as the amputation) so I have staples on both sides.  I sometimes have a hard time getting into a comfortable position and this morning I was shaking so bad mom had to wrap me up and cuddle with me. Must be the medications, huh?

My doctor will be out of town and so my staples will need to stay in for 14 days. Mom is afraid this will be to long. They said she could bring me in earlier and another doctor can remove them if they start to bother me. I’m not sure how she will know if they are bothering me. Will I try to lick my staples more than I do now?

Thanks for any advise to my mom about this. I am shaking again so I better get back up close to mom.

Surgery ….. Today

January5

Surgery Today!
Mom and Dad have not slept all week. I have had another place come up on my right leg, so the doctor will take a look at this today before the final OK from my parents to take the left leg.

Mom may have questions once I get back home about my recovery from my new friends that wear their battle scars with such pride. Each one of you are an inspiration to me.

Thanks again for all the support you have given to all of us.

Be in touch soon !!!!

Surgery Date Set

December2

OK …. Mom and Dad have set my surgery up for January 5, 2011. Christmas is always so busy around here with family coming in, plus I need to help mom pick up any little crumb that the grandkids should happen to drop. I wait for this all year….ugh…. to help mom.

I need to send a Ruff out to all my new friends. Thanks for helping my mom feel better also.

Schnauzer – Sulli Boy’s Journey Through The Loss of His Leg

November27

Hello world!

November27

Sulli Boy HERE!

Mom, Dad, and ME of course ….. are new to Tripawds. We are in the process of making the decision to have my right hind leg removed due to a spindale cell tumor. We have been reading all the stories of families just like ours and all the information has been so helpful to Mom and Dad.

Mom plans to document my journey just as many of your parents have done. I keep telling them, “It’s not always what you can see that matters, often it’s what you don’t see”.

Ruffs and Hugs,

I am a 9 year old schnauzer boy. My Mom saw me in a local pet store when I was just weeks old and thought I might be a good brother for their current schnauzer girl who had recently gone blind, (plus she fell in LOVE with me at first sight). We had a ruff couple of nights, as my new sister was not up to my pranks. Dad had to take me back to the store and pay even more money. Mom cried all night, so my daddy slipped away and bought me back the next day. As the weeks went on, Grace girl became even more ill ….. so I had to go and stay with another family for a few months. I came back home two weeks before Gracie girl said her final goodbye to us all.

I am now nine years old and have a golf ball size spindale cell tumor on my right hind leg. Mom and Dad have been told that my leg must come off so I can spend more time with them. They were having a hard time with this decision until they found Tripawds.com and read all the stories of other families faced with this news.

Mom will try to document my journey just as many of my new friends parents have done to help other Mom’s and Dad’s that may one day be faced with this. “It’s not always the things you can see that are important, often it’s the things you don’t see”.

Ruffs and Hugs,
